Body Composition Analysis
What? How? Why?
Here is all you need to know about the scan…
-
An InBody scan is a quick, non-invasive test that analyses your body composition — breaking down what your weight is truly made of. Instead of just measuring kilograms on a scale, it gives us detailed insights into:
Skeletal Muscle Mass
Body Fat Percentage
Fat Mass
Visceral Fat Level
Waist-Hip Ratio
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
Soft Lean Mass
-
The InBody machine uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) — sending a low, safe electrical current through your body to measure resistance and reactance in different tissues (fat, muscle, water). It’s fast, painless, and takes less than 60 seconds.
You simply:
Remove your shoes and socks
Stand barefoot on the device
Hold onto the hand electrodes
Let the scan do its job — no needles, no discomfort
-
The number on the scale doesn’t tell the whole story. InBody scans help you:
Track fat loss vs. muscle gain
Understand metabolic health and energy needs
Predict where your health risks might be
Personalise your goals based on real data
Stay motivated with visible, measurable change
-
To ensure the most accurate results, we recommend:
Avoid eating or drinking 2–3 hours before your scan
Avoid intense exercise on the day of the test
Go to the bathroom beforehand
Avoid scanning during menstruation if possible
Remove jewellery and heavy clothing
Not suitable if you have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator
-
Your first body composition scan is FREE with any in-person consultation at 2:1:1 Nutrition!
Your dietitian will go through each result with you and use them to tailor your Personalised Nutrition Prescription (PNP).
